I created this one of a kind heirloom using the 6000 year old ancient technique of lost wax casting & a mixture of metalsmith techniques to create a timeless setting to highlight this exquisite piece of history.
Volcanic eruptions & other occurrences resulted in the death of organic life that then sank to into the seabed. As the matter decomposed, sediments would accumulate and create a nodule or mud balls. When the oceans eventually receded, these mud balls were left exposed to the air & dried out, causing shrinking and cracking.
